Club Name: Cork Sub Aqua Club
Activity: Scuba diving and snorkelling
When we meet: The club organises dives for all members on Wednesday evenings in the summer, and on Sundays through most of the year. More challenging dives, including wreck diving, are scheduled for Saturdays for more experienced divers.

Established: The club has been in existence for 40 years.
Description: Cork Sub Aqua Club is a sports diving club with around forty active members: men and women of all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life. As a club, we place a strong emphasis on training and helping our members to improve their diving and obtain further qualifications through our organising body, CFT (The Irish Underwater Council). We have a large number of instructors who have obtained their qualifications while diving with our club and are always willing to pass on their skills. We generally start training for complete beginners during the winter months to allow time to develop skills in the pool before diving in the sea during the warmer months. Those divers who already have diving qualifications with PADI, BSAC or CMAS, etc., are welcome to join at any time of the year.
The club has two RIB power-boats, one with a capacity for 10 divers and the other 6 divers, which allow quick access to the best dive sites. The boats are also used to provide support for numerous water-based events such as the Lee Swim and the Ocean to City Race.
Club Chairman: Tim Butter
Venue: We dive most weeks out of Oysterhaven and frequently head down to West Cork. The club also organises away trips for bank holiday weekends to venues such as Portmagee, Dingle, and Hook Head in order to make best use of the superb diving available all around the Irish coastline.
