A new high tech fitness studio has opened in Douglas this month and is offering the perfect solution for those seeking fitness and a powerful workout but in half the time. Based on the Power Plate device, which uses gravity to load extra weight onto the body, the BodySmart workout allows you to load your body with up to six times your weight, without you having to lift a single bar bell. Training with the Power Plate is also ideal for most people, regardless of their age or fitness level, including the professional athletes. It stimulates blood circulation, increases muscle strength and flexibility, improves range of motion, helps to maintain bone density and reduces the appearance of cellulite. What’s more, studies suggest that training on the Power Plate can be beneficial not only for fitness enthusiasts but also for those with health concerns such as obesity, arthritis, osteoporosis and multiple sclerosis. The people behind BodySmart have shaped a 25-minute fully supervised, full body workout around the device, to help you lose weight, tone up, increase flexibility and rejuvenate your metabolism. Classes take place each half hour throughout the day at a time that suits clients, who are encouraged to train just three times a week with their personal trainer. Former Ireland international rugby player, Michael Joseph Kiernan, is also backing BodySmart.
